Loney G - Airport Regulate

Can you hear the it?

This bothers me more than it should. Fresh indie/electronic artist Loney Dear from Sweden's single "Airport Surrounding" holds the same melody of Warren G's 1994 gangsta hit Regulate. I'm sure to some this is old news....but dang. I consider "Airport Surrounding" one of the worst songs of this Century. All you really need is Warren G - Regulate!

I enjoy this artists work. Sometimes very intricate, sometimes very simple and mythical or folk-like. Lots of death references I feel. I want to categorize this art as "Soul Escape", however, that sounds weird.

The Hi-Lo's - Listen!

~LISTEN~

Yay! This is one of my favorite Hi-Lo's Collections and out on one of my favorite Labels. Cherry Red/ El release. One of the smoothest records I own. It's got the heart of Jazz Vocal Greatness, heart melting harmonies, an catchy pop culture phrases. If you are a pop kid who is close-minded about anything else....then start taking some advise from me...because, you are dumb. A perfect "Listen" for a candelit diner for two.  Starts out with one of my favorite tunes "June in January", perfect for this month.  A classic Sinatra Hit "Fools Rush In", which is another one of my all-time favorites. Do some research and find some old Hi-lo appearances on the Frank Sinatra Show. Some are hilarious and some just give a good show of the fabulous harmony based group...singing with sinatra sometimes as well. Also check out The Hi-Lo's "Happen To Bossa Nova"

Bad Dream Fancy Dress - Choirboys Gas

~GAS~

Sweet, funny, whimsical, and experimental in its own way. I love having this album to stroll through anytime I want, It makes me happy. These girls don't require much to make an unforgettable pop song with a silly topic...a guitar, a synth, minimal drums, and handclaps. With the timing and delivery, its unlike anything you've heard, but still simple and nice and seemingly innocent. I hope you enjoy it. I totally recommend "Lemon Tarts" and one of my all-time faves..."Where Have All The Schoolboys Gone?".

Blueboy - Unisex (1994)

~UNISEX~

Expect the gentleness and intense beauty in this Blueboy album you would in any and flawless production. The melodies and chord progressions will sound familiar...not because they're stolen, but because they are perfect. A solid, yet smooth array or violins, cello, classical guitar, and hint of female vocals. Beautiful...beautiful...as in "Boys Don't Matter" and I can't get enough of that song. Another Fantastic pop album by Blueboy
